An inspiring study trip to Tanzania, focused on AI for Social Good
Organized by UNU Macau, this comprehensive 7-day immersive experience takes place in Dar es Salaam and Dodoma, Tanzania. Participants will be guided by UNU Macau researchers and work closely with local communities and UN organizations to develop and implement innovative digital solutions for pressing development challenges. The hands-on program integrates field research, technological innovation, and community engagement to create lasting local impact while giving participants real-world experience in applying digital technologies for social good. Participants will meet local students and explore opportunities to work on joint programs.
Participants will engage in a hands-on project to develop digital solutions for sustainable development challenges in Tanzania. Working in teams, they will conduct needs assessments with local communities, design technological interventions, test prototypes with users, and present their final solutions. This project-based approach ensures practical skills development while creating tangible benefits for Tanzanian communities.
Alternatively, participants may submit a research proposal focused on digital innovations addressing local sustainable development goals. Research proposals should include problem identification, methodology, technological implementation plan, and anticipated community impact. Selected proposals may receive additional support for implementation after the camp concludes.
